At VistaWeb, we provide "Unlimited SSD Storage" on selected hosting plans to ensure your website experiences top-tier performance. "Unlimited" means you can store as many files as needed for your website to function, provided your usage is consistent with standard website hosting practices.
1. What "Unlimited" Means for Your Website: Our Unlimited SSD plans are optimized for hosting web content (HTML/PHP files, images, databases, and CSS). You are free to expand your website as it grows, provided the files are part of your active, live website.
2. Fair Usage Policy (FUP) for SSDs: Because SSDs are performance-driven, they are not designed to be used as storage lockers. The following uses are prohibited:
-
File Hosting & Sharing: Using your hosting account as a personal file storage (Google Drive/Dropbox replacement) for documents, movies, or large backup archives.
-
Massive Downloads: Hosting large media files (video/audio) intended for mass downloads or distribution.
-
Data Mining/Indexing: Running scripts that perform excessive and constant "Read/Write" operations on the SSD, which can degrade the life and performance of the hardware.
3. Inodes (File Count) Limit: To maintain server performance, we implement a limit on Inodes (the total number of files and folders in your account).
-
For most users, this limit is never reached.
-
If your website creates millions of tiny files, it may impact server performance. In such cases, we will work with you to optimize your storage.
4. Our Goal: Our goal is to ensure that every VistaWeb customer enjoys fast SSD speeds. If an account is found to be using storage in a way that slows down the server for other customers, we will notify you to help you optimize your storage or suggest a dedicated solution (VPS/Server) that better fits your needs.
By using our "Unlimited SSD" services, you agree to these fair usage guidelines.
